🗺️Old Maps

The current SoftSlayer map has existed since June 7th, 2023. The current SoftSlayer community loves its never resetting map, but there was a time long ago when the map reset for every Minecraft Update.

If you're interested in peeking into the past, or you played on those maps and want to find your old base, take a look and download some Old Maps:

1.19 Map

The 1.19 Map was the final map before SoftSlayer decided to never reset again with 1.20. It was not an incredibly active map, but it did last an entire year.

  • Spawn: Quaint little nature park.

1.18 Map

The 1.18 Map spanned the course of just over 6 months. Another not-so-active map that features a few smaller builds around the map.

  • Spawn: Island Spawn surrounded by Mountains.

1.17 Map

The 1.17 Map lasted a quick 4-5 months but gave us a fan favorite spawn. The Parkour world uses this maps spawn (slightly altered) as its Hub.

  • Spawn: Floral in the ground cave spawn with opening into the sky.

1.16 Map

The 1.16 Map was the first ever SoftSlayer Map to not allow PvPing or Stealing. It lasted a bit over a year and was a rather popular map. Most everyone built rather close to spawn thanks to the new rules.

  • Spawn: Quaint spawn with many builds very close.

  • There's a .txt doc in the download file that contains coords to many bases/builds!

1.15 Map

The 1.15 Map was mostly a technical update from Minecraft so SoftSlayer ran an Earth Map instead of the normal generation. It was very enjoyed by everyone who played. In place of a Spawn for this map, the server used a Hangout, which was basically a spawn not at 0,0.

  • Hangout: Floating islands over the abyss. Each serving its own purpose.

1.14 Map

The 1.14 Map lasted about half a year and sported a classic SoftSlayer "player plot" spawn. This was a very build heavy map, very active.

  • Spawn: Player Plot Spawn

TFC Map 2

In a time before ModSlayer; when the updates grew stale and the community grew restless, SoftSlayer would sometimes throw out a quick modpack to bridge the gap. TFC was a fan favorite and this map was the second time it was ran on SoftSlayer.

  • Requires the Forge Mod “terrafirmacraft”

1.13 Map 2

Also to bridge the gap between the long 1.13-1.14 wait.. SoftSlayer ran a second 1.13 map that featured random generation using a mod. Giving us non-vanilla biomes and structures. Not a lot happened on this map.

  • Spawn: There was no spawn.

1.13 Map

The 1.13 Map was ocean heavy thanks to the new Ocean Update. It served as the first map for the most famous player in SoftSlayer history: Opgamings.

  • Spawn: Booty Bay Island

TFC Map

Before ModSlayer, as a way to bridge the gap between 1.12 and 1.13. SoftSlayer ran TFC for the first time. A handful of players fell very much in love with this modpack and map.

  • Requires the Forge Mod “terrafirmacraft”

1.12 Map

The 1.12 Map was a custom terrain map that didn't last very long and was not very active.

  • Spawn: ?

1.11 Map

The 1.11 Map was another inactive map in a rather un-inspiring string of Minecraft updates.

  • Spawn: Flying Airship

1.10 Map

The 1.10 Map was again another rather inactive map that actually featured a rather cool spawn area that JHodges feels like he wasted his time building to an extent...

  • Spawn: Medieval Town

1.8 Map

The 1.8 Map was one of the most active and largest maps in SoftSlayer history (pre-1.20.) It featured both a Spawn and a Hangout (the latter being where most things happened). It was the first map that MrMatt1981 played on and is remembered quite fondly by older players.

  • Spawn: Underwater Temple

1.7 Map

The 1.7 Map was also a very popular and active map. It lasted just under a year and saw both the first Hangout and the rise of Defem.

1.2.5-1.6 Map

The 1.2.5 Map (which lasted through 1.6) is possible the most famous Map in SoftSlayer history. Lasting over a year and half, the amount of players that came and went is only surpassed by the current map. This was the first map played on by Perovskite_ and is also the birthplace of the original Death Valley.

  • Spawn: Player Plots and Randomness (a big fan favorite)

Note: This map was saved in 1.12.2 (for loading purposes)
