Guilds

Guilds!

Guilds is our own take on the clan system.

What are Guilds?

Guilds are player-run communities on Soft Slayer. Many Guilds have their own discord servers, and are a great way to connect with parts of the community!

How do I join a Guild?

There are two ways to join a Guild: Via Invite or Application. A leader (or someone else with proper permissions) can invite you to the clan, which you can accept or deny with [/guild <accept, deny> <tag of the clan>]. Applications are new! See below for more details.

How do I leave a guild?

To leave a guild, you can use [/guild resign], or via the guild GUI (My Settings > Leave Guild).

How do I create my own Guild?

You can create your own guild with [/guild create <guild tag> <guild name>]. To create a guild, you must not currently be a member of an existing one. In addition, the guild’s name and tag must be unique and not in use by another guild.

How do I verify my guild?

You can verify your guild with [/guild verify]. Before you verify, you need at least 3 members and to pay a small sum of money. Once you verify, you unlock many customizable aspects of your guild, as well as the ability to establish formal relations with other guides.

How do I customize my own Guild?

The Guild Home can be set with [/guild home set]. The banner can be set by holding a banner in your main hand and using [/guild setbanner]. Ranks can be managed with [/guild rank <...>]. A full list of options and commands can be seen below.

What are these “formal relations”?

There are 4 ways two guilds can co-exist between each other. The first is simple co-existence, nothing special (boring). Secondly, Allies. To enter an alliance, both guilds must be in agreement before it can be formalized. Only one side is needed to end the alliance. Thirdly, Rivalry. To both enter or end a rivalry, both guilds need to be in agreement. Lastly, WAR. One guild can unilaterally declare war on another, but both must come to agreement to make peace. Guilds with already existing relations to one clan can not enter in new ones with the same clan until they have ended their old one.

Guilds Perks:

Bank

Each Guild has its own bank, which anyone can deposit into and leaders (or people with permission) can withdraw from. Taxes will automatically be collected from the clan bank, but it's also a useful tool for leaders to facilitate clan projects where the clan must pool its resources together.

Chat

Guild Chat allows players to send messages only to their fellow guild mates. It can be activated with [/. join] and [/. leave]. It can also be used by just typing “/.” and then chatting like normal. This will send that specific message in Guild chat, but any proceeding messages in main. Ally chat also exists, and can be used via [/ally join] and [/ally leave].

Bulletin Board

The bulletin board is a useful tool to make announcements within clans. It is displayed upon joining the server, and announcements can be made with [/guild bb add], or via the guild GUI (Bulletin Board > Post a Message).

Warps

Warps are new! More information about them can be seen below.

For both players who are completely new here and players who have played before we updated to the Guilds system, here’s a list of all the new major things that have been implemented!

GUI!

A fresh, spicy new and actually usable GUI! Use [/guild] to activate it.

Slayer Score

Slayer Score is our new way to rank guilds, involving many more variables and de-emphasizing a simple KDR. Slayer Score still uses KDR, but also guild age, total McMMO of all its members, and lastly total money of both the bank and of the players. Slayer Score can be seen via the guild GUI.

Taxes

Taxes have been implemented on guilds, and will automatically take money from the guild bank once per month as upkeep. Taxes are calculated as: $1,000 per member (capped at $10,000.)

Bounty

Bounties have been introduced! Bounties can only be claimed within Death Valley, and the hunter receives 90% of the payout. Bounties can be viewed via the guild GUI.

Warps

Guild Warps! No longer are guilds limited to a single home. A maximum of 5 warps can be bought by a guild. Warps can be seen via the guild GUI.

Applications

A new way to grow your guild! An application system has been introduced. Toggle whether or not you want your guild to accept applications with [/guild applications <on,off>]. Players can apply with [/guild apply <tag of the guild>]. Applications can be withdrawn at any time with [/guild applications withdraw]. Leaders can see all players who have applied with [/guild applications list], and see a specific one with [/guild application view <player>]. Lastly, applications can be accepted or denied with [/guild applications <accept, deny> <player>].
